Biography
HAVANNA is a 2-piece cover band from Nelspruit, who performs mainly as a Corporate, Wedding- and Function Band since 2008, in South Africa, Germany, Mozambique and Swaziland.
Highlights of our career includes performances for:
- Sir Richard Branson’s New Year’s Parties at ULUSABA the past 10 years, as well as a performance at his son, Sam Branson’s wedding.
- Discovery’s Gala Dinner in Stellenbosch at ASARA.
- The 1200-year Celebration of ANZING in Germany.
- Regular performances at corporate events for Tsogo Sun, Unisa, South African Embassy in Mozambique, Mercedes, Anglo American, Nedbank and many more.
- Recently we were chosen to be the “In House Band” for the popular TV Show “PAPPA-CHEF”, where we accompanied all the guest artists and performers on the show.
ILSE MARÉ
Was a founder member of the women A Capella group “Cutt Glas” in the early 90’s. Since 1994 she stayed in Germany and performed there as a solo-artist for 15 years. In August 2008 she returned to South Africa to continue her career as a professional musician.
WYNAND MARÉ
Is well known for his subtle and delicate touch on the drums thus invoking the excitement of live percussion into HAVANNA’s performances which are often missed in “backtrack” performances.
